Webinar Wednesday with Dr. George Delgado,
Second Chances Can Exist
If you joined us for this month’s Webinar Wednesday, you already know—it was one of those conversations that sticks with you. The kind that reminds you why we do this work and Who we ultimately serve.
At iRapture, our hearts are always centered on saving lives and supporting the incredible pregnancy help centers serving women with compassion, truth, and courage. One of our favorite ways to do that is through Webinar Wednesday, where we bring trusted pro-life voices to the table—voices that equip, encourage, and remind us why this work matters—by bringing voices to the table who are grounded in truth, courage, and compassion. Dr. Delgado embodies all three.
Abortion Pill Reversal: A Second Chance at Choice
This month, we were honored to welcome Dr. George Delgado, the pioneering physician behind Abortion Pill Reversal (APR), Medical Director of the APR Network, President of the Steno Institute, and author of the newly released book Abortion Pill Reversal: A Second Chance at Choice. For those of you who couldn’t make it live (or want to soak it in again), I want to share a few reflections from our time together with Dr. Delgado.
A Doctor, a Calling, and a Courageous “Yes”
Dr. Delgado isn’t just a medical professional—he’s a man who listened when God opened a door that many said was impossible.
As the Medical Director of the APR Network, President of the Steno Institute, and author of the newly released book Abortion Pill Reversal: A Second Chance at Choice, Dr. Delgado shared both the science and the heart behind this life-saving protocol.
One of the most powerful moments of the webinar was hearing how APR came to be—not from political motivation, but from a simple and profound question:
What if we could help a woman who regrets taking the abortion pill and wants another chance?
That pivotal question has now led to hundreds of babies born, with no increased risk of birth defects reported. This is an amazing victory for the prolife movement.
Chemical Abortion Is the Majority— and That Changes Everything
Dr. Delgado shared a sobering statistic that really underscores the urgency of this conversation:
Chemical abortions now account for over 70% of abortions in the United States, with an estimated 700,000 each year.
That means there are countless women who take the first abortion pill feeling rushed, pressured, or misinformed—and then experience immediate regret.
And here’s the key takeaway Dr. Delgado emphasized: Regret opens the door for hope.
APR exists for that very moment.
What Is Abortion Pill Reversal—and Why It Matters
Dr. Delgado shared the science, history, and heart behind abortion pill reversal, a protocol that offers hope to women who regret taking the first abortion pill (mifepristone) and want a chance to continue their pregnancy.
APR uses progesterone, a hormone essential to sustaining pregnancy, and has now resulted in hundreds of babies born, with no increased risk of birth defects reported.
What stood out most was how APR began—not as a political statement, but as a response to women asking a simple, heartbreaking question:
“Is there anything I can do to save my baby?”
APR exists for that moment.
“Informed Consent Includes Hope”
One of the things I appreciated most about Dr. Delgado’s approach is how deeply rooted it is in informed consent and compassion. He was clear—women deserve honesty. We don’t overpromise. We explain what we know, what we don’t know, and why progesterone is worth trying if the abortion pill has already been taken.
That posture matters. It respects women. It honors their dignity. And it aligns beautifully with our faith.
As pregnancy centers, advocates, and ministry leaders, we are often the first safe place a woman turns. Knowing about APR—and being able to confidently share it—can truly change the trajectory of her story.
Practical Help for Pregnancy Centers
We also spent time answering very practical questions, which I know many of you appreciated:
How can a center implement APR policies and procedures?
Dr. Delgado shared that Heartbeat International offers model policies, and centers can also connect directly through APRNWorldwide.com, which is the best starting point for joining the network and accessing resources. How many women in my area might need APR?
While exact numbers are hard to determine without surveys, the prevalence of chemical abortion tells us this need is everywhere. If you serve women, APR is relevant to your mission.
Ending in Prayer—Because This Is Kingdom Work
One of the most meaningful moments of the webinar was how we closed—in prayer.
Dr. Delgado prayed not only for women facing impossible decisions, but for all of us—that we would be filled with charity, fortitude, and a willingness to serve. That we would be God’s hands and heart in this movement.
It was a faithful reminder that this work is not just strategic or medical—it is deeply spiritual.
