At iRapture, we count it a joy to walk alongside pregnancy center directors and leaders like you. Each day, you step into an amazing calling—meeting women in some of their most vulnerable moments, offering compassion, truth, and hope. Your work is not easy, but it is deeply important. That’s why we love bringing you encouragement from voices who understand the weight and beauty of your mission.
Recently, we had the honor of sitting down with Dr. Alveda King—author, activist, former Georgia state representative, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and longtime advocate for life. In this conversation,
Dr. King has lived her life at the intersection of faith, politics, and cultural change. She understands what it’s like to fight uphill battles, often against impossible odds. And yet, what stands out most is not her résumé, but her spirit of compassion.
She begins with a reminder: this work is not about statistics, court cases, or politics—it’s about people. Each mother, each father, each baby. Each story of fear, courage, and hope. In the hustle of running a center—managing budgets, training volunteers, navigating state laws—it can be easy to lose sight of the beating heart at the center of it all: love.
Dr. King’s words brought us back to that foundation.
One of the most moving parts of this conversation is when Dr. King shares her personal story. With honesty and vulnerability, she talks about her own abortions—decisions she once thought would erase her pain but instead deepened it.
And then she shares about the grace of God, who met her in her brokenness and offered forgiveness and healing. Today, Dr. King uses her voice not only to advocate for life, but to extend hope to women who carry the weight of past choices.
Her story is a powerful reminder of why your centers matter so much. You are not only standing for babies’ lives—you are creating safe spaces for women to find forgiveness, healing, and the chance to begin again.
Another insight from Dr. King that encouraged us was her perspective on new opportunities. She reminded us that God often opens doors where we least expect them. Even within government spaces and public programs, she has seen surprising favor for life-affirming initiatives.
For directors who often feel like you’re swimming upstream, this was a needed reminder: God is at work in ways we cannot always see. Your efforts matter. Your persistence matters. And sometimes, the opportunities for influence come in unexpected forms—an invitation to a community meeting, a connection with a local official, or a partnership you never imagined.
Throughout the webinar, Dr. King offers both challenge and comfort.
This blend of challenge and comfort felt tailor-made for leaders like you. You know the long hours, the budget concerns, the volunteer shortages. But you also know the joy of a client choosing life, the relief in her eyes when she sees her baby’s heartbeat, and the gratitude of families forever changed.
We want to invite you to take some time for yourself this week. Brew a cup of coffee, find a quiet space, and watch this conversation with Dr. King. Let her words wash over you. Let them remind you why you said “yes” to this work in the first place.
It is easy to get bogged down in the day-to-day challenges of running a center. But sometimes, what your soul needs most is encouragement from someone who has walked a similar road and still speaks with hope.👉 Watch the full webinar Here
